Baguio - What makes you happy

Monday, I was sick after Zoe got better. I did think about that situation of illness but I didn't prepare medicines due to several weeks were too short to be sick while I had just been fever a month ago. Let my body cure - I thought, but I really felt unhealthy. We took on bus and I warned Naru: "Please stay from me, Naru. I'm sick, I can give disease transmission you". She smiled, actually she had just been sick few days ago.

It was time for discussion class. That day we discussed about topic "What things make you happy?

Every student would give 4 things. I stayed up late last night to think about topic seriously. It truly says I love topics like that, it's reality and a chance to understand personality each other. I wrote on paper: Things make me happy are Writting, Travel, Have dinner with family and Receiving a handletter.

We, students, two Korean, a Taiwanese, a Vietnamese, one of us would be alternate to tell about those things, others and teacher would listen to and make questions if want.

My last turn was comming. "My fourth thing makes me happy is handletters. Well, in digital era we often send email, message by free app like facebook, kakao talk, instagram, etc. They are free, easy to draft and send quickly. So it means if letter is written by hand, it is sure that writer put a lot of love and care in that letter as well as the person who will receive it. I still remember when I received a handletter from my close friend last year, I was so happy to open. I bring it every where I travel, I keep it in a book as a friend and read it again, sometimes. It's very special thing and always makes me happy"

Teacher smiled but might seem not to be surprised with my last thing. Yes, I saw a lot of handletters sending to her to display on wall from students, not only me like handletters - I realized. It was Moai turn. He couldn't speak English fluently that made me have to concentrate on his presentation than others.

- Thing makes me happy is Jane - He spoke

I looked at him, I was not sure about what I heard, I looked at teacher and she nodded:

- Yes, JANE - she wrote my name on board

Other students started saying wow, wow while I couldn't believe in what was going on that moment. He wrote: "Jane is a new student in our class. Although she and I can not communicate much so I don't understand who she is, she always smiles and talks humorously bla bla..."

I was a little shy at that moment but couldn't stop smiling because of happy.

Remember in the past there was period I cried from that night to another night whenever I stayed alone, I had really needed someone to be talking and sharing but I didn't. It happened repetitively in a long time and step by step I had losen control my situation and feeling. I was to become to drop into despression and stress.

Alarm rang. Discussion class finished.

I met Naru at the hall again. Every Monday, office would set up room for test entrance of new students, Naru and other student managers had to move the hall for working instead.

- Hey, Naru

- Hey Jane, you tell me you are sick but see your face happy.

Oh my god, I didn't hide it. I confessed with her

- A student says I am one of things to make him happy

- Woa, he likes you? - Naru joked

- No, no. He just likes my brother.

Moai didn't know he just did a meanful thing to me. When people told me "you are difficult person and unfriendly". I became to be the exact person cause I didn't know who I was and how I looked. Their comments liked the lighthouse leading me and I believed in their words, no doubt about it. But when I was depressed and slipped on sadness even I thought to suicide, they dropped me. I was in a circle they made and didn't realize anything until I came there, Baguio told me different things. In a time I felt lonlinest that it was time I found myself again.

Those people from strangers become friends, they brought me back and woke up beautiful things inside myself by their kind words and couragement. They didn't know who I was past but they accepted me at present and expressed their feelings about it, couraged me go on in future with confidence. Depend on them, strangers I had another life. Suddenly, I remembered the video I watched. The scientists conducted a study named "What make a good life?" in 75 years. Some people say money and fame make them happy. But study says another. After near a decade they give a conclusion "Good relationship make us a good life".

And it is truth!

Maybe I made you happy but you did more than, you created Me - A New Me!
